I can't believe February is over now. I almost feel cheated because it was an uber short month that lagged in the beginning but sped up by the end. As for my guitar challenge, I failed to play every day. However, I am getting a better sense of strumming and playing the chords with more accuracy. It's not too surprising that I didn't practice because that's how it was with piano too. My teachers and judges at competitions would always see something more in me but I never really took that and ran with it. I wanted to play what I wanted when I wanted, not practice the same piece over and over and over again. I practice when I need to, but I don't always enjoy it. I guess I'm fine with not being a musical prodigy. :D But I think I want to dabble in too many things without fully committing anywhere! I'm not sure if that's a real problem yet though...

I've continued to stay active throughout the month although not daily like in January. I'm maintaining! Tare and I are looking into P90X right now though. It's time for some tough love to our bodies, but that's way later when we're all moved in. (It's overwhelming... 15 videos, 3 phases of diet plans, keeping track of it every day, gah!! I need to plan it out.) Anyone tried it out before? How long did you last?

Photography-wise, I don't think I got out very much during the week because it rained for like 3 out of 4 weeks! It was crazy, this is not supposed to happen in Bako! It's odd but I think the weather all over the world is kinda weird these days. Please pray about all the natural disasters hitting such populated areas. However, I think I took some real quality pictures this month so I am really proud of myself. I feel like I've pushed as far as I can go with regular point and shoot digital cameras. Just one more month & I'll have my pretty!!

I hope you enjoyed your Love month!

Dear Tare,

You ate another year today (miyukgook) so you are now twenty-three. Sometimes I think you were born to take care of me and make me feel like a princess because you do it so well. I'm sure that's not your only purpose, but I hope you know how happy you make me and how wonderful it is to be married to a guy like you. I know we didn't do much today for your birthday, but I'm glad to see you enjoy the day and take it all in like an adult. :D You are always overflowing with positivity and I know it's affected me to be more positive too! I promise to get you the present you want after we move into our new house. Thanks for being mine. You are the best husband, sometimes oppa, sometimes dongseng, always my best friend, and sometimes panda all rolled into one Korean dude. I love you and wish you the happiest birthday.

More than just the house

Almost only a week left until moving day now. It's getting closer and closer and I'm packing little by little. It's working out well so far. But what I'm really spending most of my time on is researching appliances and furniture for the house! We need a fridge, washer & dryer, sofa or sectional, bed for master bedroom, and all the little things like trash cans and bath mats.

There are so many things to consider with each appliance/furniture:
fridge - side by side or top freezer or bottom freezer or french door
washer - top loader or front loader, aenergy efficiency
dryer - gas or electric
sofa - fabric or leather, color, how many seats/chairs
bed - platform or normal, leather, fabric, king size or queen size or even cal king size
etc. etc.
plus looking into all the different brands and their reviews and where to buy from (Lowes, Home Depot, Best Buy, Sears, somewhere else)! Can we buy things just by looking at it online or should we see it in person; if so, where is it?!

{sadly, the only freaking out picture I could find}

It's a little stressful. It's new because we're thinking about long-term use here and choosing what we'll have to live with. It was easy just moving in and out of apartments which had all the generic appliances. I guess it's a little easier to know I'm not high maintenance and my standard is rock-bottom in terms of appliances. I have trouble reading reviews of some of the products because some people are really high maintenance about the smallest things! It really skews the review because part of it is knowing how to use it properly.
It really reminds me of when I was planning my wedding. It was all new and there was no one that could really help me or someone to relate with except theknot.com. Even then, it didn't always answer my questions. If I knew then what I know now, we would have had a totally different wedding, but I guess that's how all life experiences are, right? I just hope I'm making the right and wise decisions again because it's a lot of big purchases in a short amount of time.

The up-side of this is that I get to go on an IKEA run in a few weeks! yessiryessir! I plan on eating there next time.

I found this cool place in southern California that I want to visit! Have you heard about it? It's called Salvation Mountain. I urge you to visit the site; doesn't it look amazing??

a mix of things.

Yesterday I was looking through my hard drive to find my old school ID and password to get a transcript and I randomly opened up my diary. It was from 5 years ago when I started dating Tare and I had kept little notes about each date we went on for about 6 months or so until we both started writing a diary together in a journal. It was embarrassing and funny. It was immature and innocent. It brought back small details that I had forgotten and how my no became yes to like to love and then forever. Interestingly, Tare had brought up marriage a long time before I had even thought about it and he loved me before I loved him. I'm glad he pursued me and waited around for me to reciprocate his love and most of all I'm glad he found Christ and reciprocated God's love for him. It reminded me of this little writing I found...

I think about this every time we start dancing to the music on tv commercials, we stay up in bed after the lights are turned off and giggle like we're having a sleepover every single night, we know how the other will react before it happens which is freaky but romantic, one of us farts and I call it out while he pretends he never heard a thing (we don't do this freely and probably never will!), complain about how Aji stinks like Doritoes every time she tries to kiss him & take over my lap, and so many other weird, weird things. It is love.

I got my giveaway prize in the mail yesterday too! Ta-da!

The packaging is so cute and happy.

And this is what my living room looks like.

It's a mess of boxes but we haven't even started the kitchen yet. Eeks!
There's going to be a lot of packing and cleaning in the days ahead. I'm a little afraid. A little overwhelmed, but one thing at a time.

Can't wait for tonight's small group dinner! We're having a Filipino food night! YUM!

Happy Sunday!

{my shih tzu drawing on top, Tare's shih tzu drawing on bottom}
I would say that bottom one is a FAIL. Someone needs to practice drawing. Looks like a crazy.

Amusing fact #1: After I changed my profile picture on twitter, I have gotten many male followers in a short amount of time.
Amusing fact #2: The bum in my tum really loves ice cream these days. I finished off a whole hot fudge sundae at Red Robins and felt amazing. It was even tastier because it was free. YES.

home & garden show

Today was very much a fast forward day. I don't know where the time went but I know it was well spent! There wasn't much to the show but we did pick up a few cards here and there and we got ourselves a Smart Living Steam Mop. We couldn't pass it up after the demonstration. :D I think it is sooo cool and will be much better than our swiffer (darn, what to do with those leftover refills?!). However, the best part of my day was having a vanilla cone from Sonic. <3

-pretty exciting-

Valentine's Desserts
I hope everyone enjoyed their Valentine's weekend! Sunday was wonderful. The kids were so cute! One little boy said he would buy me a barbie. :D
Tare took care of dinner and dessert and me. He made me the cutest V-day card ever! It is always lovely to stay in with the best husband in the world.

Visited our house again yesterday and got all the measurements for windows and appliance spaces. Just a few more weeks! Time to start packing.

How random of me, but I just made these. You know those free VS panties you get every few months or so? They're so plain and boring they needed some prettifying.

Valentine's Weekend

LA Street Food Fest was today! We left really early and got there about 30 minutes before opening but there was already a line around the corner and only a few parking spots left!

It wrapped into the parking lot behind us and all the way down the block. And I mean all the way down.

Our first stop! We had the Dogzilla & the Furikake.

They also had the Unique LA Marketplace with some local sellers. Cute cute stuff but I didn't walk away with anything. It's called self control. :D

This one had the longest line since the beginning. We couldn't even see the end of the line by the time we got around there again.

When we left, there was still a line to get in! It was 2pm and it ends at 5pm. I wonder if they got any food.

It was a lovely time with the loveliest person in beautiful weather.

We also stopped by Galleria to pick up some soondubu jjigeh for dinner. It's been so long since we've had Korean restaurant food, it was seriously amazing. I was moved by how good it was. Dongchimi FTW!

Happy Valentine's Day!
I love you Tare. You make my heart sing.
