It's A . . .

42% guessed blue, 58% guessed pink (not including me or Tare)

Hello baby boy
Yes, we do have a name for him but we will share that when he's born. He's still little tokki (bunny) for now.
Time to get started on that nursery!

tokki watch: 21w

21 weeks
~7 in.

I'm completely in maternity clothing now. I had to clear out two shelves of pre-pregnancy clothing for my small collection of new clothing. ;)
Will probably share tonight whether it's blue or pink!

Thursday Quote

"Thy husband is thy lord, thy life, thy keeper,
Thy head, thy sovereign, one that cares for thee,
And for thy maintence commits his body
To painful labor both by sea and land,
To watch the night in storms, the day in cold,
Whilst though liest warm at home, secure and safe,
And craves no other tribute at thy hands
But love, fair looks, and true obedience-
Too little payment for so great a debt.
Such duty as the subject owes the prince,
Even such a woman oweth to her husband;
And when she is froward, peevish, sullen, sour,
And not obedient to his honest will,
What is she but a foul contending rebel
And graceless traitor to her loving lord?
I am ashamed that women are so simple
To offer war where they should kneel for peace,
Or seek for rule, supremacy, and sway
When they are bound to serve, love, and obey."

Act 5, Sc. 2, 162-180 from The Taming of the Shrew
Katherine giving her speech on what she has learned by being tamed by Petruchio.

Tare and I went to see a play one of our community group members were in with the whole group this past weekend. It was a fun time having dinner and seeing a play; I think it was the first one I've seen! But to be honest, I am not much of a play/musical/performance person haha.

Care to Guess?

We had our 21 week ultrasound yesterday and sent off these gender reveal cards to our families right away.
I'm still so elated!

So... care to take a guess if it's a girl bunny or boy bunny?

I'll share when those cards arrive in a day or two and we get some excited phone calls. ;)

Pumpkin Patch

Banducci Farm

5 minutes away from our house is a fun place we hope to visit every year now. Banducci Farms has a pumpkin patch, corn maze, pony rides, etc. and is such a cute place! Lots of families were there this weekend and I really look forward to next year when we'll have little tokki along with us.

Pumpkin Carving

I haven't carved a pumpkin in so long. Tare did so well even though it was his first time carving a pumpkin! We're definitely going to keep doing this. :)

What fall or Halloween traditions do you have?

Halloween Spirit

Last night was community group dinner night at our place and it's a potluck. One of the members brought the cutest dessert (he is quite creative and a great cook too).

A pumpkin patch! He used crushed oreos for dirt, chocolate and funfetti cupcakes as pumpkins, dots as stems, and sour belts as leaves. It was delicious!

I've been on the hunt for costumes for a costume party and I was coming up with blank and almost gave up on going. If you search "halloween costumes for pregnant women" you will get pretty much the same list over and over again:
-pregnant nun
-pregnant cheerleader or prom queen
-draw a pumpkin (or any other round object) on your belly and be a farmer
-be an oven with a bun inside and husband can be the baker
-draw a baby peeking out on your stomach (uh... creepy??)

I wouldn't feel comfortable doing any on this list. I know... I lack humor.
But I found these instead!

Kigurumi costumes/PJ's! I've always wanted one but never got around to getting it.
I'm going to be the black cat and Tare is the skeleton. (Honestly I wanted the panda but it's sold out. :( People know pandas are the best.)
Cushzilla.com is located in California so I'm assured it will arrive before Halloween and I think it looks so wonderfully cute and comfortable, I will love wearing it even with a bump!

What are your plans for Halloween? Are you dressing up?

Funny happening

Last night at 9:30 pm I decided to go check the mail. Tare and Aji came with since it was dark.

We're halfway there when Tare suddenly exclaims "There's a dog behind you!"

I look behind me and see a fluffy white animal and am quite startled.

This little dog started following us to the mailbox while Aji is freaking out in Tare's arms wanting to get a sniff of the little dog.

This little dog is quite cute and attempts to get closer to Aji although she only gets as high as Tare's knee, if that.

We see she has her collar on so we check it and it's the neighbor's (across the street) dog. She follows us to our house as we give them a call after they don't answer the door.

{Me? Lost? nooooo~}

Her name is Alibee. She is like a third of Aji's length.

{Hi stranger!}

The neighbors came out after the call and said their son had just found a hole in their backyard. I'm not sure why this tiny dog dug her way out but she was having a good time. She was very obedient too... If she didn't have a collar I think we would have adopted her.

I'm glad we found her and returned her to her owners quickly though. It was meant to be that I check the mail so late so this little dog could go home.
Tare and I were hypnotized by her cuteness for a while. I think it's hilarious that such a tiny dog has no fear and followed us around and let us touch her and even followed our commands.
Aji was upset we didn't let her play with her little friend.

Crochet Addict

These past two weeks I've been making a comeback in crochet! It's fun and exciting to follow new patterns and I think it's really great for the baby too since he or she seems to move around more while I'm sitting and working on projects. ;)

I think I started this blanket over a year ago... it just got so monotonous for me that I stopped working on it for a while, would go back to it for a day or two, then stash it away again--until finally! I pushed through and finished it last week. It seems to measure around 65"x60" and is oh so soft and pretty in blue. I'm looking forward to snuggling under it when the weather gets cooler.

Pretty in Blue

I have a basket of yarn of various colors that need to be used up and when I found this tutorial, I knew it would be perfect!
Crochet bunting
If you can't see (sorry the lighting is so bad!), the colors are a light cream-yellow, purple, and pale blue. It actually turned out pretty gender neutral which is great because it's hanging in the nursery.

I have a new list of projects to complete for the rest of the month and I'm so excited to crochet away with the new yarn I got over the weekend! I'm glad I have a comforting hobby to come back to every fall.

What do you enjoy doing when fall comes around?
