tokki watch: one week

Two Days

One Week

It's been ten days already and I honestly don't know where the time has gone! Day and night is not relevant to me anymore and although I'm tired, I've learned so much about taking care of my newborn baby and I couldn't be happier. He is such a sweet boy and although he has his fussy moments, he sleeps well, eats well, and even gives me a smile or two each day. He is very alert and attentive to the world and you can tell he's focused because of his funny little expression he makes with his lips.

Yesterday was our one week postpartum visit with the midwife and he is already two ounces heavier than his birth weight and has grown in height, head size, and chest size! That's a lot of good growing! His cheeks are getting chubbier by the day and it's amazing to see the differences each day.

God has truly blessed us with a little angel --I've had an easy pregnancy, fast labor, and a joyful postpartum experience even with the learning curve for breastfeeding and lack of sleep. God has been so good to our family and I can't praise Him enough!

I hope to continue recording his growth outside of the womb every week because I know it's going to go by fast. So, tokki watch continues!

Camera Love

Camera Love

These are new items for my shop that I made before baby came. I was excited when I came across this Echino Camera fabric in several different colors because the print is the perfect size for my LCP's and it makes it more obvious what the pocket is for. Also, instead of using ribbon, I crocheted the straps in matching colors with the embroidery.

Thank you for your kind words about baby's arrival. I feel like there is so much to share but I'm not sure where to start... All I can say is that I have an overwhelming love for this little person that is half of me and half of my husband. He is so amazing and I'm still trying to get used to my mommy identity. I can't believe it's already been a week!

Everyday Matters #21, 22, 24

EDM #21
21. Draw something old, antique, or vintage.

While I admire vintage style, I personally don't own anything vintage so I searched etsy for some ideas in red & white.

EDM #22
22. Draw a piece of clothing.

One of the dresses in my wishlist is this Urban Outfitters bow-tieback dress (which does have a print on the fabric). I love the bow detail and the perfect amount of skin that would show through that I would be comfortable with.

EDM #24
24. Draw a piece of fruit.

Can you guess what fruit this is?

Sending lots of love and hearts and warm, gooey feelings to each and every one of you this Valentine's day. Thank you for reading & commenting in my humble space here, it brings me such joy. ♥

Pink for Valentine's day! ♥ It seems odd that it will fall on a Monday this year... but I have plans for a nice dinner out with Tare. He gifted me a very pretty pair of earrings (with much hinting) this year from pineapple seed. I love them!

Valentine's Day gift

Do you have any special plans for Valentine's Day?

(Today is my mom's birthday! Happy birthday Umma! Can't wait to see you in a few weeks!)

Sunlit Evenings

Winter Sunset

Winter Sunset

It's been lovely since the sun has been shining again and fog has departed for the most part.
I look forward to the days getting longer again in the spring.

Everyday Matters #17 & #19

EDM #17
17. Draw a musical instrument

Two musical instruments I've spent a lot of time with are the piano and voice. I rarely play the piano anymore although it used to be a big part of my life since I was very young but I hope to get back into it as I play to my baby and hopefully teach him the basics when he's older. I still sing although not as much as I used to and I no longer record. Sometimes I wish I could do that again but I'm not sure where I'd share that anymore... I hope to sing more too when baby is here.

EDM #19
19. Draw something you've made

The best thing I've ever made in my life is obvious... I plan on painting this one!

(#18: I skipped it, teehee!)
Please feel free to share your own sketches! If you'd like to do a little drawing every day, join me in the challenge!

tokki watch: 35w

35 weeks
~13.2 in.

Is it just me or does it seem like yesterday was Monday? It feels like I'm skipping days! That's probably because I've been napping so often, it's all I want (need) to do these days.

I'm at the point (I've been at the point) where I don't feel like taking pictures anymore. What used to be once-in-a-while "fat days" are now everyday "fat days" and while I'm not upset about my weight gain at all, it doesn't put me in the picture taking mood (also doesn't help I'm not very photogenic). I'm only pushing on because I don't like leaving things undone. ;)

But there are only 31 days now, "whooray"!

Today I'd love to share some yummy snacks I've been eating in case you ever have a case of the munchies and need a few recommendations. ;)
I've been more natural-minded in the past few years and even more so after finding out I was pregnant. These are all natural products with short ingredient lists that are all recognizable and taste deeelicious!

1. Recharge: Delicious sports drink in several flavors. I've only tried the Green Apple so far but I love love love it and I plan on using this drink as "laborade."

2. Mom's Best Naturals Mallow-Oats: I've been eating lots of cereal because it helps me drink my milk for the day. I wasn't sure if it would be good when I first picked it out at the store (the packaging just isn't as flashy as Lucky Charms ya know) but I absolutely love it! I like that the oats aren't too sweet and neither are the little marshmallows which are naturally colored with blueberry, pumpkin, and carrot concentrates.

3. Popcorn Indiana Cinnamon Sugar Kettle Corn: I just picked this up a few nights ago on a late night Walmart run when I was craving caramel popcorn. I couldn't find any so I settled for cinnamon sugar and I was pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed it. It's just sweet enough with a hint of cinnamon, not overpowering like I expected.

4. So Delicious Coconut Milk Minis Banana Split Sandwiches: OH MY YUM! They're the perfect size, 100 calories, with a coconut note behind the chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla flavors. Great little dessert that doesn't feel like too much!

5. Back to Nature Chocolate Chunk Cookies: I don't usually like packaged cookies but I cannot help but inhale these! This one is dangerous to have around when you're alone, you end up grabbing one again and again and again. I think I had six the first time without even thinking about it (oops). There are lots of chocolate chunks in this crunchy cookie and they're the perfect amount of semi-sweet so you don't get sick of them like other cookies. SO GOOD! (Try their lemon cookies too!)

6. Traditional Medicinals Organic Pregnancy Tea: I suppose this one is just for mama-to-be's---I've been drinking this tea since the beginning of my pregnancy. I prefer this brand to others because the others were too strong in certain flavors that I didn't enjoy but this one is well-balanced and I love the spearmint. I add some organic cane sugar or honey to sweeten it up a little bit and it's perfect to satiate my sweet tooth most of the time. I love tea so it's great that this one is available caffeine-free and good to me and baby.

What snacks do you enjoy? (No, it doesn't need to be natural! I'm always up for some Cheetos or Oreos when the craving hits.)
