First Haircut

tokki had his first haircut this past weekend.

First Haircut

He did very well although he didn't like the clippers vibrating against his head, especially at the end.
Originally, it was just supposed to be a trim (something like bottom left) but somehow I found myself agreeing with the hairdresser who kept suggesting we even it out more... and more... and more until there was no more hair left. -_-;

First Haircut

I don't know what I was thinking, I just went along with it until I realized it was way. too. short. and then it was too late. Currently, I'm torn between liking it and regretting it. He just looks so different!
Somehow he looks older and with all of the milestones he's hitting right now I think my postpartum hormones are finally catching up with me and making me a little sad.
Yes, it's just hair and it will grow back. (I keep telling myself...)

(& one good thing about the haircut is that we now have an awesome idea for Halloween!)

My 24th

Tare pulled off a little birthday surprise for me today. Tokki and I came back home after MyGym and saw decorations up, flowers, a huge balloon, and a singing Tare holding a "cake" with candles for me to blow out again. He took a half day off from work and prepared this sweet gift for me! I am so very happy and grateful. ♥ I'm a lucky girl.

In Colorado... #4

Mommy spent time away from baby for the first time.

With Tare and family being able to watch tokki and tokki going longer between nursings, I was able to get some time to myself for the first time. While they went to play at the in-laws, I was able to go shopping with my mom and sister. While they prepared for tokki's bedtime, I was able to hang out with dear friends and rock out at karaoke! Fun times--- so fun we didn't even take any pictures. :)

I never felt like I needed time away from my boys other than a long shower and a little downtime in the evenings, and honestly I still don't... but I do finally understand why people keep saying you need time for yourself. It's refreshing to have girl time and it feels safe leaving my son with his father instead of a babysitter I don't know. Being back home though there's nowhere to go, no one else to go out with, and no family to babysit but it's completely fine with me. I love being together with my little family, they're such a big part of who I am and I believe that's a really great thing.
And what mother can completely get away from their baby? He was on my mind the whole time and I was so curious what he was up to and how he was doing without me.

All in all, I miss living near family. I miss going over to my grandparents' house to eat dinner prepared by my grandma. I miss the late night chats in my mom's room with my mom and sister. I miss the sound of my dad laughing and playing with tokki. I miss the authentic French pastries. I miss the mountains and open skies that go on forever and fresh air. I miss my old church and the people there. I miss Park Meadows and Pearl Street. But I love my boys and what we have here so I can wait until we're able to go back and visit again.

In Colorado... #3

We had lots of fun with family!
Three sets of grandparents thoroughly enjoyed their (great) grandson's company.

We can't wait to go back in a few months.

Hello Weekend

Farmers Market
{goodies from the farmers market}

We've been recovering this week from our week-long visit to Colorado. Seems like I can't get enough sleep! (Well, really I can't with tokki waking up so early in the mornings but he's so cute I gotta let it go.)

{playing at mygym}

I have way too many photos of tokki I actually feel sorry for sharing them all here. That's how many I have +10000000 more. And videos. But he's my life and I can't help but share... probably why I don't get many comments, but I understand there's nothing much to say. Maybe you could share what you're doing this weekend with me this time?

As for me, I'll be cleaning the house and then having friends over for a game night. :) I'm also looking forward to church and having Tare home to help take care of tokki. Ooh, and we'll be giving tokki his first taste of solid food (pastured egg yolk), how exciting!

Happy Weekend!
